Well with this "Free Carriage" from Rimmers at Triumphest, I'm going to
take the opportunity to purchase a remanufactured O.D. trans dirt cheap.
I don't want to have to ship the core back to the U.K. What that means to
the rest of you is my core (including O.D.) is for sale. the core would
include exactly what Rimmmer sends me as new. That is, relays, electrics,
the shifter and such would remain with me. All I want is the cost of the
core plus you pay for shipping (150 pounds + shipping). I figure that
works out to $247.50 at 1.65 exchange rate. Make it an even $250.00 +
shipping. Any takers?
The tranny details:
I am the second local owner. Transmission has never been rebuilt. 43k
miles on the car. Trans works pretty well but needs minor rebuilding
beyond my talents (don't want to mess with a tranny). Second shift syncro
requires clutch disengagement for 2-3 seconds to downshift with no
crunching. Reverse knocks a little bit, but is still functional. That
all that's wrong with it. O.D. works fine.
It would be about one month after I get the trans from Rimmer before I
could ship it out. I'm willing to drive a little to avoid shipping cost
and meet a fellow list member. Price may also be negotiable.
