Hello Jeff,
this seems to be normal for a TR 6 but not optimum. I just read an interesting
article in a German motor magazin about the TR 6 clutch and try to translate
what they say about the release bearing:
"...... The TR 6 clutch release bearing is known as a trouble part. They never
lasted long(in Germany). "Britische Automobile" in Heidelberg and clutch maker
LuK developed a clutch kit for the TR 6 with a constant rotating bearing and a
special sleeve. Thatīs because on the TR 6 the clutch is actuated hydraulic,
but
there is no spring which disconnects the bearing from the diaphragm spring as
found on the TR 3. BTW with the clutch kit not only this problem is solved.
Also
the clutch operates softer and needs lesser pedal force. ....."
It seems I found one more design of the "wonder clutch" as discussed some
months
ago.
