Morning all-
Well it's Monday morning and British car day was yesterday. You couldn't
have asked for a better day. The sun was out, but not terribly hot,
several hundred British cars scattered around a beautiful grassy field,
with the stables and the horse ranch framing the background, wonderful
people, Ahh life is GREAT!!
I didn't have enough time to really prepare the car (or talk to as
many individuals as I would have liked), but hey, had a great time anyway.
Saw Laura G's beautiful Dark green car "Nigel" and from what I remember, I
saw a sidedraft Weber under the hood. But alas when I finally got around
to getting over to look, the bonnet was closed and Laura was busy looking
at other cars so I didn't get to ask how she smogs the darn thing.
Surprising lack of round tail Spitfires and no GT's so it looks like I
better get my '70 Spitfire finished!!
Driving home I was reminded (as I usually am when driving home from
one of these events) of how lucky I am that fate allowed me to be part of a
group of people who share the same interests. Waving to other people
driving their British "pride and joys" as they go by on the freeway, some
with brookland screens, driving gloves, goggles and leather caps. Smiles
plastered from ear to ear, wind in your face, sun shining on your back.
The wonderful sound of the exhaust, and Rosanne by my side, makes all of
the hard work, sweat, blood, and anguish you put into your 'baby' seem
TRULY insignificant. This surely must be what heaven is like, and if I was
painting my own picture I would have an endless country road and my TR!!
All psyched up for the upcoming drive to Triumphest in San Louis Obispo in
a couple of weeks!!!

Get out and ENJOY!
