The piece of wood holding the clutch disengaged is a bad idea. You are putting the springs into "compression" for an awful long time as well as straining the hydraulic system. In a nutshell you are asking for failure of one, the other or both. The best thing to do is to go out to the garage once a month and pump all the pedals to "exercise" them. This will also break any rust forming between the P plate and F disk. Cheerio Don |
