Gary,

We had a thread on this a coupla months ago. Mine has to get done on the
driver's side. I'll get to it, as they say, RSN. (real soon now).

There was some good advice given out. Since I am "welding impaired" I plan
on pop riveting in a sheet of galvanized, which I have purchased. One good
piece of advice was to be sure to use steel rather than aluminum rivets, so
that there will not be a dissimilar-metal problem. This doesn't affect you
since you're welding. Another was to be sure to use a sealant between the
two layers. Roof tar was suggested, but then rejected as being too messy.
The type of undercoating that comes in a spray can sounds good, and I have
some of that left over from a job I did on my Audi once. Good luck.

Don't have a British car? What do you do for aggravation?
