The car is a 1963. Remember that in those days Detroit began the new model
year in Oct of the year before. Triumph did not do that, but Triumph dealers
in the U.S. were competing with the other makes. So in October all triumphs
in the dealers showroom suddenly became next year's model and were registered
as that.
If you get the certificate from BMIHT you will see that the car was built
probably in Sep or Oct of '63. That makes it a '63 even if it probably wasn't
sold until after Jan of '64. Triumph did not make changes (for the sake of
changes) each model year as Detroit did. Cheers..
