First day on list-I have a 1966 TR-4A. I've owned 22 years and spent the
last year restoring. Rebuilt front suspension, hydraulics, on and on. New
white paint job-really looks great.
It has SU carbs. It was flooding out some. I recently installed grose jets
and tossed the old needle. Put in new floats. Made a big improvement.
But I still have a little carb stutter at times. Happens when starting up
at a light, etc. Easily stops when you wind it out...I think the mixture
smells too rich. Plugs looked kinda fouled when I checked/cleaned over
weekend. I've just never fooled with the carbs much-Do you reach a point-air
leaks,etc.- where they need rebuilding? Or just try adjusting mixture?
Anybody that is recommended for a rebuild? approx. $?
That is the last real mechanical job not tackled in my year long
restoration.
Thanks,
af
