Help! I have had a TR4A IRS or TR-250 for 30 years and am intimately familiar
with those, but my recent purchase has me stumped. I have a TR3A that needs a
lot of suspension and steering work. The front end and steering have not been
a problem, but the original rear leaf springs have. Everything came out
relatively easy except for the front fulcrum pins. They will not budge. I have
gone by the book and put the 5/16 x 24 bolt in the end of the fulcrum pin as a
prying point and even cut and filed the end of a pry bar so that it would fit
tightly around the head of the bolt. I have sprayed them with penetrating oil,
but still no luck. I have tried prying the body away on one side and can
almost get the drivers side off that way, but then I still have the new
springs to put on, so I don't think that is the way to go.
Are there any other methods either of you can suggest? The car is now on jack
stand with all but the fulcrum pins out, and I definitely don't want to just
