Listers,
Since I apparently don't know when to stop I've just purchased
another TR4. This one is titled as a 1965 but the chassis and engine
number indicate that it is an extremely early model. Chassis # is
0281CT, engine # is CT401E. The comm # is CT38888LO.
First of all I would like to thank a member of the Triumph Digest Jerry
Magorian for making this car available to me. Surprisingly I didn't
have to drive half way across the country to pick this one up. It was
just across town!
I'm not sure whether this will be a parts car or a fixer upper. Right now
I'm going to proceed under the assumption that I'll fix it up. I hate the
thought of making any car into a parts car. There aren't enough
around as it is. But if they are to far gone what else can you do. So
far this one doesn't seem to fit the "to far gone" category.
Question, does anyone know if the comm # plates were fastened down
with rivets that had washes underneath? The comm plate on this car
is installed like that.
There are some parts I'm looking for right off the bat. I need all four
lights that are mounted on the front grille, the right hand air vent
louver is missing, the column headlight switch and the red and green
indicator lights mounted above the speedo and tach. If one of you
happens to have one or more of these parts I would like to hear from
you.
Also would someone that has a car that with a real early comm #
contact me. I would like to compare notes and see just how authentic
this car really is.
Thanks
