Tony,
Personally I run what ever I am using in the engine. There always seems to
be enough left in the containers to top off the dash pots.

Subject: Best dashpot oil?

I am wondering what the best oil is for the SU dashpot. The owners
manual indocates 20 wt in the winter and 30wt in the summer. Since
I don't have such stuff lying around, what is the best. I have heard
that ATF oil is good, but what is its equivalent weight? I have also
heard of Marver\l Mystery Oil, (it is a mystery to me what it is good for)
but I think it is just AFT oil.

Since the oil never gets particularly hot, maybe it would be ok to
use 20W year round.

I have also heard of the trial & error method of adjusting the dashpot oil
to
give the best hard acceleration without running over rich (thicker oil =
more rich
when opening the throttle).

What is the consensus of the list?
