I can't see replacing a perfectly good 4cyl TR motor with a Toyota. A Spitfire
motor,
sure. But a 4cyl TR 2.2l puts out a solid 135ft/lbs of torque with minimal
work. You have
to really look for a Toyota rear wheel drive set up that comes close... most of
those
junk yard engines are expensive to rebuild (you WERE going to rebuild it,
right?) and put
out about 70- 90hp....Maybe a 4AGE, 135hp?... but you don't find those in
junkyards...
