Someone else noted the use of an impact driver. I second
this vote, assuming we're talking about the same tool. I'm
referring to the "hit it with a hammer" impact driver which
does wonders for stuck screws. I bought one from Sears way
back when I had a motorcycle -- perfect for the screws they
insisted on using to hold things together!
The forward force of the hammer blow holds the driver bit
in the screw, and the rotation impact works wonders to break
things loose. Match that with the classic BFH (big hammer)
and you can do serious damage to a rusted screw!
