I think maybe my computer was on the fritz when I sent this before... so
I'll try again in case it didn't go out.
I'm thinking, once again, of selling off the TR 8 I just recently bought
off a friend. I was with him when he bought it a few years ago... and,
at that time, it was a great car and very well maintained. My friend
was great with the car for the first year, he had a business, was
putting himself through college... and things were great...
Then he sold his business, dropped everything, and on student loans,
went to Law School... which was great for him... but the car... well...
He drove it into the ground. What I mean is... he could no long afford
to maintain it properly... and he's not one to work on his own car.
And... He had something against Tonneau covers... and would leave the
car exposed to the elements 90% of the time.
Subsequently... The interior needs a lot of work. The A/C is down...
but all there... etc. etc. etc. etc.
I would consider letting it go for the best offer near $3500.00...
I'd rather see it go to a rust-prone state... where it's relatively
rust-free california condition would be most appreciated. And I'd
rather see it go to someone that really wants to restore it...
This e-mail is a "feeler"... not an offer... I haven't decided... I just
don't have the time nor the finances to work on this car now. Part of
me just wants to store it away... so it can become one of those "found
in a BARN" cars down the road.... and part of me would rather be
tinkering on a motorcycle... : )
