Chris Lillja is correct is stating the pushrod tubes were installed after the head was painted. This makes masking off a pain - but necessary if you want it to look original. AFA paint colour is concerned - a semi gloss black (more matt than gloss) is the one to go for. Head gaskets from what I remember were copper sheathed asbestos. Hope this helps. John Mac |
