Got my most recent care package from BPC, so expect to spend some
time today under the car installing the new brake line in the front.
I haven't done brake lines in about twenty years, was surprised to
get a coil of line that I will need to straighten and then re-bend to
fit. Going down to the parts store to inquire about a brake line
bender before I get started.
I think I can shape the new line successfully even without a brake
line bender if I am patient and deliberate. Anybody have any success
bending the brake lines without a bender?
Going on to the lighting/wiring today also. The fuel gauge doesn't
read a thing. Will need to figure out if I have power to the sending
unit for starters.
Is there a problem with using standard bulbs such as the 1157's in
the TR3's? I took note of the recent thread on bulbs, higher
wattage, more heat etc, but it seemed to me that no one said stay
with the TR standards.
My little baby is starting to look ready for the road. Still up on
blocks, but it has carpets and seats back in, about to finish up the
newly upholstered rails, brakes etc.
Will have to get the motor started this weekend or next weekend and
start tuning a bit.
This is a wonderful list. I can't thank all of you enough for the
constant flow of arcane TR knowledge that I am getting here. Not to
mention the help finding the NLS parts (thanks again Bob, for
supplying the door rail), cool window stickers etc.
What a group this is!
