I am not sure why you think that any fuel through the injectors could
leave the engine without seeing a spark. As far as I know (which is
admittedly not very far wrt PI systems) the fuel is injected into the
inlets, therefore it will have to pass through the cylinder, and see a
spark, before it gets out of the engine.
Some far eastern manufacturer is now offering a petrol car with direct
injection (into the combustion chamber) similar to how diesels have been
designed for years. In this case it is possible for the injector to let
fuel in afetr combustion which would then simply exit the engine through
the exhaust without burning.
