List:
The segment on "Dream Machines" which aired on the History Channel
Tuesday featured sportscars and it devoted the first portion to British
Marques. Most of it was on post-war MG and Jag-u-are, but about two
minutes of programming was devoted to Triumph. It showed a TR2 being
driven by a San Diego owner who explained a little (20 seconds) about
the marketing and performance of early TR series cars. Besides British,
the show included information about German (Porsche), Italian (Alpha,
Ferrari, and Lamborgheni) and U.S. (T-bird & 'Vette). Toward the end,
they discussed the decline (oil embargo and EPA) and rebirth (Miata &
more aleged disposable income) of sportscars and a clip of a TR6 being
onloaded onto a portable parking lot circa 1974-5 along with a Spitfire.
