Hello,
I have recently purchased a 1973 TR6 and a live in the Detroit Area (Dearborn,
to be exact) and am looking for information from anyone with similar interests.
I am not the most handy person in the world but am interested in improving my
car maintenance skills. My cousin John Blair(whom some of you might know from
this group or the Morgan group) suggested this might be a good way to find a
mentor.
Currently, my car runs pretty well when cold, but if I drive it a while and turn
it off, I have to wait until the engine cools off (approx 45 min.) before it
will fire again. It also seems to burn a lot of gas. Only having modern cars
for comparison it is hard to gauge, but is 12 mpg normal for the standard 6? I
am pretty sure it just needs a good tune-up (easy) and a Carburator adjustment
(with my skills, impossible) to make it hum.
So...Anyone out there in the near by area that is interested in having an
apprentice?
Thanks for any help,
Richard Blair
