I don't think that a simple trim job will be sufficient. However,
the TSSC (Triumph Sports Six Club) in England sells a bracket that
attaches to the frame mount and extends it out. This allows the use
of a shorter shock absorber which then mounts to the frame (as it
should have been done anyway). A similar bracket is also available
from Moss Europe (formerly TriumphTune).
