Ed, before you panic, try removing and cleaning the actuating valve in the overdrive unit. Sometimes a little metal filing or other debris gets lodged in the valve, allowing enough pressure to build up to partially engage, resulting in slipping. You can do this without removing the unit from the car. Mine is a D type, probably different from yours, but it should be under a cap right on top of the overdrive unit. Dave |
