Hey All,
I just wanted to thank everyone who has responded to this question. I think I
now understand the timing question, and what static timing is. I static timed
it to 12 degrees BTDC last night, just like the Bently say to do. I didn't get
a chance to run it yet. I have a timing light so i can time the thing when it
is running
Also, as most of you can guess, Having only 15 miles on it since the rebuild I
have yet to do thing one with the carbs. They didn't even have enough oil in
the dashpots! I fixed that last night too.
I put the question out there so i could see if I was missing anything.
Oh ya, I haven't replaced the condensor yet! Why you ask? I don't know I
have three new ones sitting in a box. I'll do that when I get home today.
I report on Tuesday the results.
One last time, this is a 74 TR6. The Dist only has a vacuum advance, no
retard. Should this be connected when I do the timing with the engine running.
Later,
JHD IV
