Last July or August (I think) someone reported finding a functional
equivalent for the thermal vacuum switch, a.k.a. ported vacuum switch for
the later U.S. spec TR6. I *think* he reported that one from an early 80's
Chevy Blazer was the one. I even wrote it down at the time, but have lost
the paper it was on. If nobody kept the message, I guess I'll try to
download 2 months worth of archives and do a search.
The (quite helpful) counter guy at the local NAPA found several that would
physically fit, but said the temperature specification was crucial.
Right now the vacuum line to my distributor bypasses the switch because one
of the ports is broken off. I know it runs this way, but I'd like to see
if I get smoother startups with a functioning switch.
