Dzus advice

Greetings Triumphiles!

        After nine years and more money than I would ever knowling admit,
Caspar (not the nicest, just the most expensive TR3A) is nearly on the
road. I am presently somewhat vexed over the correct installation on the
dzus fastners on the bonnet. Are there any tricks that veteran 2/3
owners on the list might share as to attaching the bottom washer into
the sleeve? I have TRF's "kit" (a screw and a bolt and a couple nuts and
washers) but the d--m thing still won't stay in the aperture.
