You do not want bump steer. Bump steer is also known as toe-change. If you
have bump steer you will have a tire scrub also. And this can cause your
tires to wear quicker.Bump steer is caused by incorrect location of either
control arm piviots, or the rack or center link, so tie rods cannot remain
parallel to the control arms throughout suspension movement. The result is
that toe changes constantly in reaction to the road surface. Bump steer can
affect handling and safety.
        The only way to check this is on an alignment machine. Pull down on the
front and see if the toe readings stat the same. Also push up to see this.
I would say if you get an 1/8 inch change, then something is not right.
Check to see if the control arms and tie rods are parallel to each other.
