Sorry but I get mail in about three places and this one doesn't have your
name.
Having done two tours in Germany, one with my TR6, my opinion (just like
A**holes, everybody's got one) would be to sell the family car and ship the
Triumph. Yes I know we have a family to take care of. There's a constant
turnover of GIs and Airmen and as such a constant supply of family cars.
Take the money from selling the family car and buy a used one over there.
Go to the BX shortly after arrival and make arrangements to by a 2001 car
of family choice to be delivered to your point of entry on rotation back to
CONUS.
It may be a little work to convince the wife but she'll be happy you took it
too. From Ramnstien you are in close proximity to two of the world great
wine valleys. A trip up the Rhine valley through Mainz, Bacharach, and
points north or along the Mosel to Bernkastel Khues, or then a short trip
east into France. You'll both be sorry if you can't do it in the TR.
Again, my opinion, and everybody has one.
