I noticed the other day inside one of my Sylvania, non replaceable bulb
"sealed beam" Halogen headlights was full of condensation on the front of
the headlight, to the point of obscuring the reflector and the bulb in the
rear of the lamp. This can't be good for light dispersion! Is there a
cure for this or is it as I suspect, time for replacement?? I thought it
would burn off or evaporate after being turned on for an extended period,
but that apparently isn't the case. All I can figure is that since only
the bulb itself is "sealed", the glass housing/reflector has a small
pinhole somewhere, and the inside heats up and expands expelling some air.
Then when it cools after operation, cool moisture laden air is drawn in and
condenses on the cold clear glass prism area. It's been like this for a
several of weeks so it's not just an isolated occurrence. Any ideas, or is
it time for a new headlamp??
