Hi Everyone,

OK....when last I left off I had a leaky carb and a non starting TR4 after a
manifold painting, cleaning and carb(s) rebuild.

I removed the carbs, replaced the float needle valves with gross jet
valves(supplied with my rebuild kit), re-bolted everything and lo and behold
......no leaks. Not sure if I didn't tighten the floats bowl enough on the
first go around or if it was switching to gross jets. The stupid part was that
when I did the rebuild, I thought the gross jets supplied were supposed to
replace the needle and jet air/fuel mixture adjuster and as such did not wanrt
to use them. Limited knowledge can be a scary thing. A haynes manual probably
would have helped(hint hint).

Anyway, tried staring her and no luck. THEN...I opened the choke. I have no
working choke cable and have not needed to use the choke to start the car in
the past. She fired up but is running very rough. I'm not worried.

Now I've got to tune her and replace my choke cable with a new one. Be
prepared for some basic tuning questions in the future.

Thanks to everyone for their help, especially thoise who offered their phone
numbers for real time advice. I'll keep you all posted.

Happily,

Alan Camhi
