Hello to all on the list,

I've just covered 1700 miles in two weeks in Europe in the 2.5S Estate.
A great drive except for a vibration at about 70-75mph. I've recently had the
back suspension rebuilt and the vibration has just appeared.
A good source has told me that the propshaft is probably causing the problem
and it's now evident because the new back suspension has caused the propshaft
angle to be altered. I'm told that I'll need to get a rebuilt and balanced
propshaft.
Does this sound right? Any way to verify this?

Also while I was in Holland, the distributor shaft developed such bad wear that
the timing was all over the place and I was on the verge of a breakdown. To cut
a long story short I got a second hand recon distributor from a very helpful
TR6 specialist who fitted it and checked it out etc. (I've never met such a
helpful mechanic whose workshop was really impressive!).
He reckoned it was from a 2000/2.5 car but said the only difference would be in
a few degrees of extra advance from the vacuum and the weights.
He said that I could modify this etc.
Anybody know what the part number should be? Also whether I'll need to make
mods or just live with it? It drives OK but pinks a little at the moment.

thanks in advance for any help
Andy
