Dan: Am changing out the alternator on my TR250. I purchased a Delco
7127-9 for $30.00 at Grand Auto (it is listed for use by a 1980 Chevy
Camaro). The unit has an internal regulator, puts out 63 Amps and looks
like it will be a direct replacement for the Lucas without any
modifications to the holding bracket. The changes in the wiring have
already been made from a previous rebuild of the Lucas alternator.

Of course, I could have replaced the Lucas for $77 and maintained the 36
Amp output and the blinking indicator light.

Thanks for the conversion article and the exacting help it provides.
Found it on VTR.
