There are two types of rust killer in this world, the converters and the
eaters. Phosphoric acid is a rust eater, it desolves the rust, and
leaves
bare metal. Rust converters like you have convert it into a diferent
oxide
or iron. Thats the black stuff. I use the locktight one, but they are
all
the same. You should use a primer of some tipe to get the correct
finish,
and I would be tempted to use a zink baised primer for grater effect,
you
want it to last. I would be tempted to take some abraisve to the
treated
area, and take it off. It is not an inhibitor, it just stops it. When
you
have done this you will probably find some rust that still need
treatment
get this with it, and repeat the process again if there is lots. You
realy
wan't bare metal with nothing on it too get the best results, this is
not
alway acheaveble. If there is rust on the other side, treat this,
because
there may be pin holes through the metal. You should alway key the
surface
so the primer will go on better, although I some times can't be bothered
if
it's just a pach that I don't need to last.
Hope that helps
