Listers,
when I was young and stupid enough that was the case. And it still is,
sort of.
While at University, I took the bus to school and drove ther TR in the
summer. This was a rust primer red TR4A which I also raced in Solo 2
events. I had no other car but drove it as if I had a spare in the trunk.
Then I bought the TR6 in the last year of school. Drove it the same way.
in fact, I took te plate off my BMW ( a 1970 2500 sedan, euro spec)
because I felt so confident in the TR6. It got, over 6 years, just over
45,000 miles. It was never driven between November and April. May it Rst
in Peace, it was written off on September 11, 1995, a fine fall day except
for the car.
Mt 69 GT6+, with maybe 20,000 miles (ex racer, never turned a wheel after
1975), fully resotred has 100 miles on it the year so far. Tomorow is the
TDC meeting and even thouh it is -25 here all of a sudden I think I'll hook
up the heater or wear bigger boots!!!
Ask Andy Lindberg in Minnesota ( a close "neighbor") about driving his car
lat4ly. I saw a pix in the newsletter of him and zapparently his trusty
Volvo can;t handle the weather. So, there is at least 2 of us tin toppers
of the stylish TR variety) running against a background of snow!
