This is an interesting posting about the NY police using Holdens, wait till
they find out the roof has about as much protection as my TR6 softop
because its held on by the glass. A tough New Yorker could probably spit
through it.
A local university crash tests the roofs on new models because it wasn't
part of the usual industry safety tests (here). Australian cars, Holdens
etc. consistently have the weakest roofs.
The V6 motor in this model, has a good reputation but it was big publicity
here that Holden diluted the ratio of coolant to water, from that
recommended by Buick, to make a production cost saving of 50cents max per
car.
All the welsh (freeze) plugs corrode out in record time, just a few K's out
of their warranty period.

Have just learnt that GM Holden Australia is sending 850 VT 5.7litre Chev v8
Holden cars to New York police department. This VT Holden will be left hand
drive & have rear wheel drive. The reason for using Holden is because of
there rear wheel drive & IRS. The Holden V8 using the Chev 5 litre is out in
front in the Shell Touring Car racing in Australia. The Holden V6 is using
the ex GM Buick block from way back. Cheers Ashley
