Carefully pry out the shaft seal shells with a tiny screwdriver or
somesuch, without bending or damaging them. If I recall, they are in
two parts, and inner and outer shell. Disassemble the throttle shaft.
Replace the inner shell carefully, and seat it with a flat-faced punch.
Replace the throttle shaft. Slide the seals on. Replace the outer
shells carefully. One can purchase the shells in advance, and it is
probably advisable to do so, as it is sometimes difficult to pry the old
ones out without bending them, which will allow for air leaks after
reinstallation. Resemble the throttle linkage. My experience has been
fairly successful without replacing the shells, and completely
successful when replacing the shells. Note that the throttle shaft
shell webs in the carburetor body may need to be resurfaced, if they
have become corroded. Note that while I seem to remember two shell
halves, it is quite possible that there is only an outer part.
