My TR4A has been in a barn for the past four months. I started it once
during that time. Starting it yesterday, it seemed to be a different car:
it wouldn't idle (RPMs too low) and the oil pressure was low, between 10
and 40 PSI (at 3000 rpms) on a rebuilt engine. Here are the possibilities
I can think of:
1. The gasoline is bad (even though I used some fuel stabilizer last
fall).
2. The oil isn't filling up the capillary running to the guage, making
the guage read low (can such a thing happen?).
3. The carburetors have gotten gunky.
4. Others?
I didn't have time to analyze the carb problem, I just turned the idle
screws a couple times to allow it to idle. The oil pressure problem is
the most worrisome to me. Advice welcomed.
