Minilite wheels

I'm new to this list but have had my TR3 (TS76120L) since 1973.  My two
teenage sons convinced me to get a set of minilite wheels from Moss during
their last "sale".  My question is "what sized tires to fit best and not
have fender problems?"  Also, what's the information on the rack-and-pinion
steering conversion?  Any help would be appreciated. TIA
