Joe,
My TR250 has the later suspension brackets installed. I went with
stock late-TR6 springs from TRF (earlier, shorter springs NLS), thinking
that the geometry would now be identical to the later factory set-up.
Unfortunately, it appears that the TR250 rear is significantly lighter than
the TR6 boat-tail, as I have considerable positive rear camber when the car
is empty. I'm waiting to let the springs settle a bit before hunting for
shorter springs or even aligning the rear. It's not an excessive amount of
camber, and with two people aboard the car handles well enough. I got used
to seeing the car with sagging rear springs, and the new ones were quite a
change. I didn't do this job myself, so I can't comment on the difficulty
(thanks, Motorhead).
If you go the late-bracket route, be sure to replace the
compression bump-stop rubber "cones" with the longer ones from the late
suspension set-up.
Best regards,
Tom Marincic
