Well I've ruled out a few things as causing the problems getting the drums back on the TR3B. The handbrake is still disconnected, so that's not it. After trying for awhile, there appears to be only one way that you can mount the shoes. One of them has the notch for the handbrake lever, so that can only go one way. And while you can put the other one on either way, only one way leaves the hole lined up to get the hold-down pin through. I've laid the shoes down along the inside of the drum and the curve seems right on, so I don't think they're the wrong overall size. The thickness of the friction surface appears to be an even 1/4" all the way around. I'm stumped. I guess I know what I'll be messing around with during any free time the next week. - Dave Moag 62 TR3B |
