RE: spitfires at le mans

        Actually, according to Graham Robson,  The fiberglass fastbacks
on the Le Mans Spitfires and the works Rallye Spitfires were modeled
after the Spitfire GT prototype which later became the GT6.  So in
reality, the GT6 inspired the shape of the fastback racing Spits, not
vice-versa.
