John,
You should count on putting in a front suspension re-bushing kit (TRF has a
good one), also it's very likely you'll need to replace the silent-bolc
bushings in the tie rod. I also replaced my steering idler assembly, but the
new one wasn't that much tighter. I found the ball joints and tie rod ends to
be in good shape (you should check yours). Wheel bearings should be cleaned
and inspected. If there's no pitting, heat marks, or other signs of wear, I'd
re-pack them and go. You will also most likely need to replace the wheel
bearing seals.

odometer indicates its got 80,000 miles on it. What in the front

not had any work done in this area but seems to have been well maintained.
Are the following good for another 20,000 miles: ball joints, inner tie
rod ends, outer tie rod ends, wheel bearings? There's a little slop in
the idler arm that needs attention, but otherwise the steering seems
tight.
