Step 1) Get out your big ViceGrips (TM) and remove the plug, destroying
         it in the process.

Step 2) Buy a new plug at your local fuzzy-dice-selling autoparts store.

Step 3) Go to Sears and buy an eight point socket to fit your new plug.

Step 4) Fill your gearbox and install your new plug with your new socket.

Step 5) Never worry about a rounded plug again. (Your new socket may
also work on your engine sump plug too!)

Optional:

Step 6) Cut a 1" hole in the transmission cover adjacent to the plug and
fill it with a 1" rubber plug. Next time you want to check the
oil, Lift up the carpet, remove the plug, put your 8-point
socket on an extension and remove it, no problem. (This idea
         came from Chris Kanterjiev)
