I had a similar situation a while back.  I shipped some factory manuals for
an "off-brand" lbc to the west coast.  No check.  No response. I got on the
"off- brand" list and posed the question of what happened to the fellow.
This generated an instant response.  The fellow (1) wasn't on the internet
for a while and (2) forgot to send the check.  All's well that ends well.
It worked for me.
