I've been staring at my carb's now for several weeks and comparing
them to pictures of other spitfires and also to various parts
manuals. There are two things that have me baffled,
1st) I have a rubber hose that runs between the two carbs just above
the throttle shaft. None of the pictures that I've seen show this
tube.
2nd) The throttle return arms don't line up properly for the return
springs to work properly. When I hook the springs up the throttle is
pulled wide open. I suppose its possible that I assembled the parts
wrong but I don't think I have.
The number attached to the carbs are AUD328L and AUD328R
The SU carburetor book by Haynes identifies these as Austin Healy
Sprite Mk 4 carbs. Or maybe Haynes is wrong. Trouble is I don't
know for sure.
If I have the wrong carbs, does anyone have the correct ones and or
is anybody willing to trade for the ones I do have?
