Hi Martin:
One of my friends is currently doing a complete frame-up on a '75 Spit. He
is using a Toyota Corolla GTS 4-valve, twin cam, fuel-injected 1600 engine
and 5 speed. He is retaining all of the stock engine pieces and exhaust to
the muffler. It is going very smoothly and when done will be
indistinguisable from a stock Spitfire - until the light changes. The
engine is lighter than the original engine and makes the twice the power.
It looks like a winner.
