I live about 2 mins from Hereford St!
When were you over here...Mum worked at Massey for as year or so at the
Students Association, and I know some people out there...I bought one of
my PI's from a lady who worked out there...
NZ is madly tough on anything driveable here - people are becoming
scared to drive at the speed limit 'cos of Nazi cops and Speedcameras,
and weird anti-speed campaigns that are utterly flawed in their logic
that pootling along at 90-odd k's is going to save your life...some of
the situations they present in adverts, accompanied by 'slow down'
messages (eg, head-ons from having to go wide around obstacles, and too
litlle room to brake) could be easily solved by bloody well going
faster!
The registration system is being tightened up and is horrendously
expensive, the govt. are misguidedly trying to force old cars off the
road, thinking of such things as rebates and bonuses for scrapping old,
and loveable vehicles - then we have the crap high-grade unleaded that
we are now supposed to feed our LBC's - so high in aromatics that pipes
turn to jelly and quite a few car fires have occured, especially just
after its introduction last year.
NZ, far from being the haven of rare cars it used to be, is increasingly
becoming an anti-real-car society, its getting really stupid....
