Maybe you are misreading what I wrote.  I am talking about a kiloPOND,
not kiloPOUND.  A kilopond is a real, but not often used, unit of force,
whereas a kiloPOUND is a non-existent unit that would equal 1,000 lbs,
as you have suggested.  I think we are talking at cross-purposes.
