Scott:

FWIW, I added one to my '71 TR6. Yes, you need to enlarge the hole at the
bottom. I used a round file, and it wasn't too difficult, but the hole will be
a little larger inside than it needs to be, if I remember correctly. Ideally,
you would use a VERY sharp chisel, and very carefully enlarge the hole in
steps, to match the shape of the pull, but that is a lot harder than using the
file. If done right, it can't be detected from the outside, and only from the
inside if you look closely.

The most important thing to remember is that the lock hole does not go through
the door perpendicular to the front, but is at a 15 degree angle. If you hold
the file at the same 15 degree angle, you should have no problem. If you hold
it straight, by the time it is big enough to take the pull, it will be big
enough to show from the front. This may seem like an obvious thing, but I have
seen several, and talked to the owners, where they didn't know this, and filed
straight (me included, but luckily I caught on before too much damage was
done!).
