Just had a friend with the same problem. He replaced the starter, and
relay and then called me to properly diagnose it. Turns out his battery
terminal was corroded and when removed and cleaned, his old parts worked
fine. Diagnoses can save a lot of money. But the good thing is that I now
have a good spare starter and relay.
