John,
I have restored 4 TR6 cars and fixed up 3 other TR6's . all for fun to make
some extra $$$
I have only done one frame off .
One car I got for $800! I do all my own paint and body work and welding,
interior .I payed $1500for the motor work . when I got done I had spent
$5800. I had over 300 hours in the car. I used it 1 year and got $8000 for it.
There is a restoration shop here in Roanoke Va that did a car for a guy .He
paied $3,000 for his car then paied $10,000 more to have it restored. I was
nice but not worth $13,000.
So the more work you can do yourself the less you have in the car. however
if you dont know what you are doing you may spend a far greater amount
learining new things. Local teck schools are a good help. But when you get
don you can say I did it!
