(I'm resending this with a better subject line. My goof on the first
one.)
Hey All,
I've may have a bit of a problem. I've been re-assembling the TR-6
engine the last week, and I think I may have goofed with the "Bush-Oil
Pump Drive" gear, PN 149776. This is the gear that sits under the
Distributor and is driven by the camshaft.
Well, when I put it in I just dropped it into place and gave no thought
to its position relative to Piston #1 TDC! I'll bet anything I should
of. The timing cover is now on as well as the sump cover. I haven't
looked at the distributor yet, but I'll bet I screwed up.
Now for the question, how do I get this gear out without removing the
timing cover to get at the camshaft? Should I just be able to left it
out?
I thought about this last night while lying in bed, thinking about what
I had done this weekend. I couldn't bring myself to go down to the
garage to see if I was in trouble.
Thanks,
JHD IV
