     Subject: TR6 Electrical Question

Hi,
Two questions regarding a 1975 TR6 I'm looking at buying:

The car starts strong every time, except after it's been run for a long
while (30 -40 minutes). At that point it reacts as if the battery is
dead. The battery is fairly new, so I'm suspecting it's either the
alternator or something else is draining the battery during the drive.
Any suggestions would be appreciated as well as projected cost to fix.
Nothing like an electrical problem!

Also, this car has had the engine rebuilt to run on premium unleaded,
tranny rebuilt, new clutch and nice paint. It has not had a "frame off",
but all the body panels seem solid with the only rust spotted being on
the inside of the right front wheel well (about 3/4" round). The frame
also seems sound. Top and tonneau are in good shape but the interior
needs a total redo (I'm figuring about $1700 in materials based on the
Moss price list). Car could also use new shocks (guessing about $500).

The asking price is $6900 but he's willing to deal. What do the experts
out there feel is a fair price in view of what's needed?
Bob (in search of an LBC)
